About Me
My name is Daniel (Dan) Garza, long time Houstonian - 25 plus years orginally from Pomona, California. Here are some highlights of my professional career:
Over 17+ years documentation experience utilizing evolving computer technologies and 8+ years of Oil and Gas related technology mostly upstream. Experience with downhole survey tools and explaining how they are used. Familiar with PC applications and SME interactions learning the new processes and concepts. A Business Graduate from U of H and now I have a Master's in Instructional Design and Technology from West Texas A&M University.
Some examples of documentation for standards, procedures, and training:
- Improved material retention and comprehension by developing interactive modules with Captivate 8 and implemented on Litmos LMS.
- Wrote and formatted downhole well user manuals, and training courses for Measurement While Drilling (MWD), Logging While Drilling (LWD), Gyro Drilling, and Directional Drilling.
- Vastly improved overall staff proficiency with a web help knowledge base for information technology w/ RoboHelp on SharePoint 2013.
- Reduced confusion by developing documentation and training courses for HR new hire content.
- Configured online help file systems using RoboHelp HTML for Merrick Systems, Neon Solutions, Sysco Products, SDI and Schlumberger Oilfield services.
- Ensured content accuracy by maintaining effective communications with geoscientists, mechanical engineers, hardware/software engineers/developers at HP/Compaq, Schlumberger, Enterprise Products, and Unocal, Saipem, Neon Solutions, Merrick Systems, Scientific Drilling and Tyco Thermal.
